Tinmaster, Inc., a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) specializing in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) was incorporated in October 1991 by current Owner and President, Arthur J. Tanner.

Arthur became involved in the sheet metal industry in 1972 as an apprentice trainee. After completing his apprenticeship and gaining journeyman status, he then advanced to field supervisor. In time, Arthur realized that his opportunity for further advancement as a sheet metal worker was very limited.

As a result, Arthur began making plans to become an HVAC contractor. Within two years his plan was in motion. Starting with two employees, his first year in business, Arthur was able to obtain several jobs which positioned Tinmaster as a viable competitor in the sheet metal industry.

As the responsibilities of ownership increased, Arthur recruited a long time friend and past co-worker, Michael McDaniel. Mike is currently Senior Estimator and a Project Manager at Tinmaster. He has been involved in the sheet metal industry since 1971.

In 1996, Tinmaster was awarded “Contractor of the Year” by the Minority Contractors Association of Greater Kansas City and “Minority Construction Firm of the Year” by the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Kansas City. Arthur received the Curtis A. Franklin Award for “Outstanding Business Person of the Year” by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. In 2006, Tinmaster received the Interfaith Worker Justice of Kansas City Jerry Meszaros “Employer of the Year” award. Tinmaster also received the Contract Award Recognition by Mid America Minority Business Development Council (MAMBDC) in 2006, and again in 2007.

Arthur and Mike combined bring over 70 years of experience to Tinmaster. Add to that almost 40 years between Project Manager, Robert Eslinger, Jr., and Detailer, Mike Ardoin, and Tinmaster has nearly 110 years of knowledge from which to draw upon.

Tinmaster now averages a workforce of 25 employees. With customer satisfaction and quality service at the top of the priority list, Tinmaster is now recognized as a premier HVAC sheet metal company in the Greater Kansas City area.
